Silver City, Oklahoma is an unincorporated rural community of approximately 500 people (more or less, depending on where you draw the line) which lies at, and in the general vicinity of an intersection of two major ("paved") county roads in northern Creek County approximately 35 miles west of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
One of the county roads used to be State Highway 51, the main drag between Tulsa and Stillwater (home of Oklahoma State University - GO POKES!), but the "new highway" was re-routed several years ago and now runs about a mile north of most of us.
The other county road is a blacktop road that runs from Happy Corner on Highway 33, north through Olive, thence through Silver City, and on to it's terminus at New Highway 51.
(In our immediate vicinity, we have "New Highway 51", "Old Highway 51", which runs through Silver City, and "Old Old Highway 51", which runs through the greater Lawrence Creek area.)
By the way, in case you haven't been paying attention, Oklahoma is that weird-shaped state just north of Texas, kind of like Idaho, except sideways and further south.
(We are well aware that Texas is also kind of weird-shaped, but since they're bigger than we are, we don't usually mention it.)
