Stuff you need to know:

This site is best viewed with a computer, a monitor, and an internet connection.

Spread your browser to max or crash and burn!
(best at 800 x 600 resolution or wider)

If you see an emergency vehicle with flashing lights in your rear-view mirror,

MOVE THE HECK OVER!!!

The vast majority of the content of this site
was written
with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

This site was established on August 30, 1997 when 28.8K was still SMOKIN',
and was last updated or tweaked for the thousand and umpteenth time on

June 7 ,2008
(personnel, timeless truths, training)

It is updated whenever anything worthy of documentation happens,
or when the webmaster remembers to bring his digital camera to the fire station.

Usually the latter.

You can get one of these (or something similar) HERE.

We've been operational only about ten years, so we still can't tell you much about how we do things around here. We're still figuring it out as we go. We've "re-invented the wheel" a couple of times.

This web site is an attempt to try to tell you who we are, where we are, what we've learned so far, why we're doing this, who helped us do it, what we've got going so far, and where we hope we're going from here.

And hopefully, to have a laugh or two along the way. Some people may not understand this stuff at all, but others will find that it hits WAY too close to home.
