Basin Town Site, 1893

Basin was started in 1893 after the Cherokee Strip Land Run.  That same year, Basin had a saw mill and cotton gin.  It was a vibrant economic center until the railroad came in 1903 and established cattle pens at the present site of old Mannford.  Most Basin businesses closed and moved to Mannford.
